Norwich ace is hitting form, and Leeds should rue not pouncing.
Leeds United’s strong start to the season has largely overshadowed a promising run of form from Norwich City who are level on points with the Whites.
Leading the charge for the Canaries is Emiliano Buendia, who netted in the win over Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend.
He is hitting form, with two goals in his last three games.
Buendia is a player who could have been playing for Leeds this season if the Whites had followed up their interest.
The Star reported last September how Leeds were reportedly lining up a move for Buendia in January.
The Argentine spent time on loan at Cultural Leonesa last season, a team owned by Leeds director Ivan Bravo, and scored seven goals.
This summer it was Norwich who swooped for the attacking midfielder.
After a slow start Buendia has been integral to Norwich’s recent success, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
He is just the type of player Leeds could have done with to rotate with Samu Saiz, who has lost some of his lustre in recent weeks and been dropped from the side.
With the two teams level on points, this could end up being a transfer which plays a big impact in the outcome at the end of the season.
