After a summer in the wildnerness, Leeds United striker Caleb Ekuban announced himself to Trabzonspor fans with a flourish.
Ekuban scored on his Trabzonspor debut after coming off the bench against Galatasaray in a 4-1 win.
Following up that strike has been more difficult for the Ghanaian forward.
Ekuban’s debut goal came back on September 1, and saw him score in just a four minute cameo.
The Leeds striker would have hoped that would have led to more opportunities, but it hasn’t happened so far.
Since then, Ekuban has played just two games as a substitute, playing only 20 minutes of football.
Worst of all Trabzonspor lost two of their three matches, and in one of them Ekuban did not get off the bench.
The Leeds striker can’t be blamed for failing to score or make an impression in his limited chances so far since his debut.
In just 24 minutes of action he can still boast one goal, in a high profile game.
Ekuban has to hope that chances are around the corner, but patience will be key. After his bright start, what has happened since has been underwhelming.
