Jamal Blackman has moved to Leeds United on loan from Chelsea.
Blackman has moved to Championship side Leeds on a season-long loan deal from Premier League club Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old spent the 2017-18 campaign on loan at Sheffield United, and the performances of the former England Under-19 international was very encouraging.
Blackman told The Yorkshire Evening about his loan move to Leeds: “It was mainly up to (Chelsea) as well.
“They’re trying to make sure they look after me and that I make the right decisions for my career and get as much experience as possible. We sat down quite a lot together and tried to think about what the best option would be.”
The goalkeeper added: “That was the aim, to get out and get as much experience as possible. The more experience you have the more chance you have to push and be part of the first team (at Chelsea).”
Long-term future at Chelsea
Blackman’s comments suggest that he sees his long-term future at Chelsea, but that is not necessarily bad for Leeds.
After all, the 24-year-old will know that for him to break into the first team at the London club, he will have to work hard at Leeds next season and prove himself.
It is not easy to be successful at Leeds, as the Elland Road faithful are very demanding, but the Whites’ fans are also very appreciate of good players.
