Charlton host Oldham in League One this evening.
Leeds United’s Jordan Botaka applauds the fans after the match
When Charlton Athletic host Oldham Athletic this evening, two Leeds United loanees will be reunited.
Jordan Botaka is currently on loan at the Addicks while Lee Erwin is at Oldham, but the two have not had particularly great starts to the season.
Indeed the pair are not guarantees to get picked, and could begin the match on the bench.
Botaka was a substitute on Saturday as Charlton drew 1-1 with Oxford United. He came on for the final nine minutes of the fixture, and this was no one-off.
The DR Congo international is yet to make a single League One start for Charlton, making five appearances off the bench.
Despite showing glimpses of what he is about, he has no goals or assists, and has not pushed manager Russell Slade into calling him into the starting XI.
This evening could of course be the night that changes, but so far Botaka is yet to benefit in terms of playing time from stepping down a division.

Teammate and tonight’s opponent Lee Erwin has been featuring more regularly, but is not really making much of a positive impression.
The striker has made a total of 10 appearances in league and cup, but scored only once.
Oldham boss Stephen Robinson said after the weekend’s defeat, via the club website, that he is ready to make changes.
Erwin’s goal record does not scream ‘must pick’, and while he has more chance of starting for his side than Botaka, he could well be dropped to the bench.
It is early days, but each player would be hoping for better results if they are to go back to Leeds, a division above, hoping to succeed.
