Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers’ midfielder Josh Windass has been linked with a move to Leeds United.

According to the Daily Record, Leeds United are interested in signing Josh Windass from Glasgow Rangers, but there must be a question over where he would fit in at Elland Road.

Windass has impressed at Rangers this season, but he would be an unnecessary addition for Leeds to make.

If there is one position where the Whites are well stocked it is in attacking midfield.

Leeds already have Pablo Hernandez, Samu Saiz and Kemar Roofe competing over the number 10 spot, and the trio are all excellent options at Championship level.

Windass, at 24, is hardly a youngster with bags of potential – and moving away from Rangers, where is getting regular game-time, to switch to Leeds would be unwise for both the player and the club.

Leeds need a goalscorer, not another attacking midfielder, and they should be focussing all their attention and money on finding a striker.

And while Windass does seem to have a bright future, going after him this month would make little sense for Leeds.
