Leeds United have been linked in recent days with a move to appoint Claudio Ranieri.

The Mirror report Leeds are strongly considering axing manager Paul Heckingbottom and replacing him with a foreign coach, citing Ranieri as a potential candidate.

HITC reported earlier this month how owner Andrea Radrizzani is a huge admirer of the Italian.

Ranieri was recently sacked by French side Nantes and is available for work.

Last night Ranieri, 66, told Tuttomercatoweb he has no desire to stop coaching.

After being presented with a career achievement award, Ranieri said: “[Thank you for the] career award but I still want to coach, I will think of my memories when I stop coaching.”

Ranieri has also recently expressed his desire to return to England after a spell in France.

He told Sky Sports.: “I don’t know now, but one day I’d like to come back to England. I am waiting [for offers].”

Ranieri might prefer a shot at Premier League level again but Leeds could give Ranieri a totally different challenge.

Managing in the top flight from scratch would be tough for Ranieri because he would not be able to repeat his incredible Leicester City success, when they improbably won the title in 2015/16.

The Championship would be tough, but it might give the Italian less pressure, even though Leeds fans expectations would be sky high.
