Leeds United legend Eddie Gray was delighted with Lewis Cook’s stunning long range strike against Fulham.
Cook buried an effort from at least 35 yards out, unleashing an unstoppable strike which sailed over ex-Leeds goalkeeper Andy Lonergan and into the net.
Gray, part of Leeds’ successful side in the 1970s, told LUTV he had been crying out for the midfielder to shoot more regularly.
Describing it as the highlight of the match, he said: “It was tremendous, everyone talks about Alex Mowatt… you wont hit one better than that Alex, as long as you play. We’ve been crying out for Lewis Cook to have goes at the target, but a lot nearer the goal than he was, 30-35 yards out.”
It was only the second goal Cook has scored for Leeds United but it was certainly a memorable one, and a strike which will surely encourage him to shoot more often.

Cook averages just one shot per game this season, the fourth highest among the club’s midfielders who have played 10 games or more.
None of the Leeds players are particularly willing to shoot, but when they have the capability to finish like Cook and Mowatt can, there is a strong argument, as Gray suggests, they should be doing it far more often.
Cook is a regular in the Leeds side and has been playing further forward lately, and the goal should give him the confidence boost he needs to make a decisive influence on games.
