Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live that Junior Firpo has not been at his best this season.
Bielsa, though, has noted that Firpo is improving for Leeds, adding that he is a very good player.
The Leeds head coach has outlined that the 25-year-old left-back has had fitness and coronavirus issues this campaign.
Bielsa told Leeds Live about Firpo: “He’s had interruptions, he hasn’t been able to have continuity.
“But it’s clear the conditions he has are very very important, it’s true that he hasn’t expressed all of his potential yet but I see him improving constantly. I think he’s a player with very very important conditions.”
More to come from Junior Firpo at Leeds
In our view, there is a lot more to come from Firpo at Leeds.
The 25-year-old joined Leeds from Barcelona in the summer of 2021.
Now, you do not get to play for Barcelona if you are not a good player.
Firpo has shown glimpses of his talent at Leeds so far, and, in our opinion, he will only get better and showcase his full potential soon.
The Leeds no. 3 has made 10 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League, two appearances in the Carabao Cup, and once appearance in the FA Cup so far this season.

West Ham United v Leeds United
Meanwhile, Paul Merson has predicted Leeds to lose against West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday.
The West Yorkshire club will take on West Ham away from home at London Stadium in the league today.
Former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit Merson believes that Leeds will lose 3-1.
Merson wrote on Sportskeeda: “West Ham are in the top four again and are coming on the back of impressive victories against Leeds United in the FA Cup and Norwich City in the Premier League.
“More than half the season is over now and they’re in the UEFA Champions League spots, so it’s definitely not a fluke or a false position.
“Leeds have no chance of being dragged into a relegation battle because I think they have enough quality to win a handful of games along the way, but I expect West Ham to win this one and cement fourth place.”
