Leeds United won against Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Leeds United returned to winning ways in the Championship on Saturday afternoon. The Whites got the better of Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 at home.
New Zealand international striker Chris Wood’s goal in the 24th minute proved to be the difference between the two teams in the Yorkshire derby.
The match was not exactly a classic, and Wednesday could have earned a draw had Jordan Rhodes been able to successfully convert his penalty.
Leeds, though, must be delighted with the final result. The following three photos from the match sum up just what the three points mean to Garry Monk’s side.

The win against Wednesday means that Leeds are now fourth in the Championship table with 61 points from 34 matches.
There is still a long way to go in the season, but it does look very unlikely now that the Whites will fail to end up in the top six.
Monk has done a wonderful job at Elland Road since being appointed the Leeds head coach in the summer of 2016.
The Whites will return to action on Friday evening when they take on Birmingham City away from home at St. Andrew’s in the Championship.
