Leeds United are chasing the signing of Getafe youngster John Joe Patrick Finn Benoa – better known as John Patrick – having shown promise in Spain.
TEAMtalk claim that Leeds are looking to hand Patrick a big move to the Premier League in 2022.
Manchester United, Everton and Burnley are also thought to be keen on the 18-year-old, but Leeds are hoping to win the race.
Patrick started out with Real Madrid before finding his way to Getafe. A giant presence at 6ft 4in tall, Patrick is already in and around Getafe’s first team.
Patrick was born in Spain but actually plays for the Republic of Ireland on the international stage, and is in their Under-19’s for this international break.
The midfielder is now wanted by Leeds, and a move may allow him to play against his hero.
When he first went on trial with Real Madrid and joined the Spanish giants, Patrick’s move made headlines in Ireland.
His father John was quoted as saying that the midfielder ‘loves Cristiano Ronaldo’, so was living a dream by joining Real.

Patrick was just nine at the time so wasn’t able to play with Ronaldo at Real, but he could soon have a chance to play against him.
Leeds and Manchester United have a fierce rivalry, and fans would expect Patrick to go flying into Ronaldo if given an opportunity.
The teenager’s story is truly incredible. Patrick has an Irish father and a Spanish-Cameroonian mother, who was also a catwalk model.
Eligible to play for all three countries, it looks like Patrick has picked Ireland.
When his Getafe contract ends next summer, Patrick will have a similarly huge decision to make – and Leeds will hope it all goes their way.
