Leeds United have sacked Jesse Marsch but Victor Orta seemingly wanted to keep the American in the Elland Road hot seat.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that some Leeds decision-makers actually wanted to keep Marsch.
Chief among them was Orta, who believed that Marsch deserved more time to turn things around at Leeds.
The club’s ownership – which will include Andrea Radrizzani as well as 49ers Enterprises – were losing faith though and have now decided to axe Marsch.
The Whites have today confirmed the departure of Marsch, sacking him after less than a year in charge.
Leeds must now find a quality replacement for Marsch as they attempt to stave off the threat of relegation to the Championship.

It just wasn’t working for Jesse Marsch and Leeds United
We can understand why Orta so desperately wanted this move to work.
Sacking Marcelo Bielsa last year was a big decision and he will have really wanted Marsch to be the future for Leeds.
However, this just wasn’t working for anybody and this decision has been coming for some time now.
Marsch claimed just three points in his final seven Premier League games and managed just two league wins after the end of August.
The American seemed convinced that he could turn performances into results but Leeds have managed just four goals in their last six games.
Leeds have been flat going forward and simply far too narrow, whilst they consistently conceded soft goals.
Leeds just didn’t seem quite as close to a run of results as Marsch believed and key decision makers clearly felt the same way.
This is a blow for Orta but he must now help the search for a new boss and ultimately hope to find a manager who lasts a little longer than Marsch.
