Leeds United may have a double American move in mind this summer with Jesse Marsch and Brenden Aaronson both wanted at Elland Road.
The Whites aren’t safe from relegation by any stretch of the imagination but have to contend with fears over Marcelo Bielsa’s future.
Bielsa’s contract expires this summer and usually leaves it pretty late to decide whether or not to sign a new deal.
Leeds subsequently have to think about potential replacements, and the leading contender appears to be American coach Marsch.
The Telegraph and Daily Mail both claim that Marsch is Leeds’ number one target to secure the Leeds job if Bielsa moves on.
Marsch became one of the top young coaches in Europe with Red Bull Salzburg, earning his big move to RB Leipzig last summer.
After two league titles with Salzburg, Marsch won just eight of his 21 games in charge of Leipzig and left the club in December.
Now seeking a return to management, Marsch is thought to be Leeds’ top pick to take over should Bielsa move on.
This could end up being a double American deal for Leeds, as they are also chasing the signing of Salzburg star Brenden Aaronson too.
Leeds failed with two bids for the playmaker in January, but The Athletic claim that Aaronson wants to join this summer as Leeds prepare another move.

That would be a reunion between the pair given that they worked together at Salzburg last season, and transfer insider Dean Jones suggests the pair fancy joining forces again.
Jones has told Give Me Sport that links to both Marsch and Aaronson is ‘not a coincidence’ because Leeds admire the Red Bull approach.
Jones also claims that Leeds believe both Marsch and Aaronson want to work together in England, adding credence to a possibly Elland Road move.
“It’s not a coincidence that Leeds were heavily linked with Brenden Aaronson and are now being heavily linked with Jesse Marsch,” said Jones.
“There is huge admiration for the Red Bull model and their focus has been on success stories coming out of Salzburg in recent years. Leeds want both Aaronson and Marsch and believe the pair would love to work together in an English team,” he added.
