Leeds United are trying to sign a striker in the coming days as they look to add another signing after securing Maximilian Wober.

The Whites confirmed Wober’s arrival on Tuesday following a week of speculation linking him with a move to Elland Road.

Arriving from Red Bull Salzburg, the Austrian defender now reunites with his former boss Jesse Marsch – just as Rasmus Kristensen, Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson already have.

Wober offers an option at left back, where Leeds really needed help given Junior Firpo’s struggles, and at centre back too.

That’s one of Leeds’ biggest needs sorted now and the attention will now turn to additions at the other end of the pitch.

Rodrigo may have found his shooting boots this season but Leeds will need another striker with Patrick Bamford’s injuries a real problem.

Leeds chase striker signing in coming days

The Daily Mail now report that Leeds are looking to follow up the Wober signing by adding another striker ‘in the coming days’.

Leeds face West Ham United in the Premier League tonight and then Cardiff City in the FA Cup on Saturday.

It may well be that Leeds hope to get this mystery striker signing wrapped up either just before or after that FA Cup game, making sure a new body is in to face Aston Villa next week.

So who would Leeds sign to bolster their attack?

Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres is one potential option.

90Min reported last week that Leeds had made contact to try and sign Coventry attacker Gyokeres.

The Swede has been in great form this season, bagging 12 goals in 25 league games for the Sky Blues.

Coventry won’t want to sell easily and allegedly want around £16million for the former Brighton and Hove Albion attacker.

Leeds will have to dig deep if Gyokeres is the man they want, and that would be a major outlay for a January signing.

Fans are bound to wonder if Southampton’s Che Adams is back on the radar again.

Victor Orta has liked Adams for a while now and this could be a good time to try and move for the Scotland international.

TalkSPORT report that Southampton fancy re-signing Aston Villa striker Danny Ings, which may just make a deal for Adams possible.

The Saints may look to bring in cash so new boss Nathan Jones can reinvest, potentially making Adams available.

Leeds are likely keeping tabs on both strikers and will hope to have a goalscorer secured in a matter of days.
