Leeds United’s search for a new manager goes on but reports linking the Dutchman with Elland Road may not be as clear cut as previously thought.

According to West Yorkshire Sport, reports linking former Leeds United player Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink with the vacant manager’s post at Elland Road are wide of the mark.
That is the claim attributed to a Leeds source, as their search for a replacement for Garry Monk continues.

The former Swansea City boss left Leeds last month, handing in his resignation after just a year at the helm, and unsurprisingly a whole host of names have been thrown into the proverbial hat including Hasselbaink’s.
The Dutchman has been out of work since his ill-fated spell at Queens Park Rangers. However, he enjoyed far more success at Burton Albion and he will be hoping to restore his reputation with the right move in due course.
Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani is said to have considered plenty of managers, employed and otherwise, but if the source is to be believed Hasselbaink is not one of them.

The Italian will know he is running out of time to appoint a manager before the Leeds players return for pre-season training, and after they came so close to a top-six finish last time round, it is vital that they sign the right players in the current transfer window or risk another disappointing campaign.
Only time will tell who ultimately comes in to become the latest in a long line of Leeds managers since they slipped out of the top flight, but Hasselbaink may be waiting a little longer to get back into the game.
