Leeds United’s breakthrough star this season has undoubtedly been midfielder Ronaldo Vieira. The 18-year-old talent has been a revelation for Garry Monk’s side. He has played an astonishing 38 games for the West Yorkshire side this season and shown a level of maturity way above his age.

Such form has even seen the brilliantly named midfielder earn his first call-up to the England set-up. The teenager, who is also eligible for Portugal and Guinea-Bissau, has been included in the England squad for the Toulon Tournament.

One man who was very impressed to see Vieira come this far was Leeds United’s Head of Physical Performance. Sean Rush took to Twitter to congratulate Vieira after all his hard work paid off:

Vieira has had to work hard down an unconventional route to make it at Leeds. He left Portugal at the age of 11 and worked his way into the Leeds youth system via spells at Whitley Bay Boys Club, Batley Phoenix and the 121 Football Academy in York.

His desire and work-rate have got him where he is today and Leeds will be hoping there is much more to come from their teenage sensation.
