White spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Leeds from Brighton and played an important role in Marcelo Bielsa’s side winning automatic promotion from the Championship.
Leeds want to sign the 22-year-old defender on a permanent contract this summer and had an initial offer of £18 million turned down by the Seagulls, according to The Sun.
The report has claimed that the Whites have made a new offer of £30 million in cash and a further £5m in add-ons.
However, according to the report, Brighton will turn it down, as they want over £50 million for the youngster.
Time to move on?
Described as “unbelievable” and “intelligent” by Leeds central defender Liam Cooper in The Yorkshire Evening Post in April 2020, White would be a superb signing on a permanent contract for Leeds.
However, with Brighton reportedly looking for over £50 million for the 22-year-old, perhaps it is time for the Whites to look at cheaper alternatives, as £50 million is too much to spend for them on a single player.
