Leeds finally have a homegrown hero who is making the team his own.

There was despair in 2016 at Elland Road when Leeds United sold midfielder Lewis Cook.
The Whites sold Cook for just £6 million to Bournemouth, letting go of a player who fans dreamed would lead them to promotion.
Cook was the academy hero who has the potential to become an England captain. Replacing him seemed impossible.
At first it seemed like Ronaldo Vieira would step up, but it never quite clicked for the young midfielder, and he was sold this summer.
Instead a new ‘face of Leeds’ has emerged, Kalvin Phillips.

Phillips has transformed this season and has been the heartbeat of Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
He has played in midfield and defence, often flitting seamlessly between the two positions mid-game.
If Leeds fans were not sure on Phillips before the season, they are certain now. The 22-year-old is a star.
Just like Cook, he is Leeds born and bred, and most importantly he looks to be staying put.
There has even been talk that Phillips could get called up by England.
Leeds’ academy production line has come up trumps once again.
