Leeds United want Gonzalo Plata and could now lure the Sporting Lisbon winger to Elland Road after a loan spell with Real Valladolid.
Leeds just about managed to stay in the Premier League having beaten Brentford 2-1 on the final day of the season.
The Whites have already secured one signing with playmaker Brenden Aaronson arriving from Red Bull Salzburg.
Jesse Marsch will understandably want more signings though and there could be another winger on the way to Elland Road despite the existing options there.
Leeds United want Gonzalo Plata
Leeds already have Daniel James, Jack Harrison and Raphinha out wide, but there are considerable doubts over Raphinha’s future.
Raphinha emerged as a star at Sporting in Portugal and Leeds could now shop there for a new wide man.
Bolavip report that Leeds have joined the race to sign Sporting winger Gonzalo Plata this summer.
Valladolid took Plata on loan for last season and have a €10million (£8.5million) purchase option on him but are trying to bring that price down.
Leeds are now joining the race in the hope of securing a deal for the Ecuadorian star.

A right-sided, left-footed winger just like Raphinha, Plata is quick and tricky and there are flashes in his game where he reminds you of Leeds’ Brazilian hero.
Plata only played in Spain’s second tier last season though – bagging six goals and five assists in 30 games – and the Premier League could be a huge step up.
Plata, 21, has been hailed as a ‘great player’ by Valladolid sporting director Fran Sanchez but they are struggling to buy him.
Much will depend on Raphinha’s future at Leeds, but the Whites may feel that there is huge potential in Plata and that he could be developed into a star at Elland Road.
