Leeds United continue to watch Gonzalo Plata amid claims that Newcastle United fancy signing the Real Valladolid winger.
The Whites have seen Crysencio Summerville show real promise of late.
Yet with Jack Harrison linked with a move away and Luis Sinisterra yet to turn in consistent performances since his summer move, Leeds may want another winger.
Fans would rather see a striker arrive, and understandably so, but another wide man is being linked.

Leeds United continue to watch Gonzalo Plata
CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs has now told Give Me Sport that Leeds have continued to scout Real Valladolid wide man Gonzalo Plata.
Jacobs suggests that Plata is on a ‘longer-term radar’ at Leeds, meaning they may only move for him a long way down the line.
Leeds allegedly watched Plata last season when he was on loan at Valladolid from Sporting, before his move become permanent.
Plata has now been in action at the World Cup with Ecuador and Leeds appear to have kept tabs on him.
Plata, 22, has played 10 La Liga games this season, picking up two assists in the process.
That may not sound all that great but Plata has been hailed in recent years, even being branded ‘exceptional’ by Valladolid boss Pacheta.
A right-sided winger who likes to cut in on his left foot, Palta was viewed as a potential replacement for Raphinha over the summer.
Sinisterra may have come in but Leeds are being wise by keeping close tabs on the exciting wide man.
The news of Leeds keeping an eye on Plata’s progress comes after he was linked with a Premier League rival.
Transfer insider Dean Jones told Give Me Sport earlier this month that Newcastle United rate Plata highly and are tracking him at the World Cup.
Plata didn’t exactly set the World Cup alight before Ecuador were eliminated today but we may see Leeds and Newcastle go head-to-head for his signature in 2023.
