The Leeds United stopper has a bright future ahead of him for club and country.

As reported by BT Sport, Leeds United goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell has been invited to train with Northern Ireland ahead of their friendly against New Zealand and their World Cup qualifier against Azerbaijan.

It is another indication of the 20-year-old’s talent, and while he has only made one appearance for Leeds to date – and none under current manager Garry Monk – it seems only a matter of time before the stopper gets more recognition at Elland Road.

Peacock-Farrell is one of Leeds’ most highly rated youngsters and it will be interesting to see what Monk has in store for him next season.

Much will depend on who comes and who goes, with Ross Turnbull already heading for the exit and Marco Silvestri failing to oust Rob Green as the club’s number one this season.

As a consequence, Peacock-Farrell could start the next campaign as second-choice stopper, although it seems more likely that another experienced ‘keeper will be signed and the youngster will be sent out on loan to gain some valuable first-team experience.

Only time will tell, but it is clear Northern Ireland are paying close attention to his development and are keen to tie him down quickly, with the youngster also eligible to play for England.
