Leeds United lead the race for George Hall
The Daily Mail report that Leeds are leading the race to sign teenager Hall this summer.
It’s stated that Leeds are now prepared to make a seven-figure offer for Hall in the hope of a summer deal.
Birmingham are still trying to fend off Leeds by telling Hall that he is better off staying and developing at St Andrews.
Whether that works remains to be seen, but Birmingham did lose another talent to Leeds last summer in Amari Miller.
There is now a real chance that Hall follows Miller to Elland Road and joins him in the Leeds development ranks.
The report does though note that Brighton and Newcastle United are both interested in signing Hall too.
All clubs interested appear to be encouraged by the fact that Hall hasn’t been given much first-team football at Birmingham this season.
The 17-year-old attacking midfielder, hailed as ‘explosive’ by Birmingham youth coach Martin Olorenshaw, was given a first start against Queens Park Rangers in January.
However, Hall had to wait until the final day of the season to play for Birmingham again, coming off the bench against Blackburn Rovers.
That gap in playing time may just allow Leeds to convince Hall that he is better off joining them and becoming a first-team player like Gelhardt has under Marsch.
