Leeds United forward Pierre-Michel Lasogga reveals what instructions he has been getting from new boss Paul Heckingbottom.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga seems to have got his mojo back following the appointment of Paul Heckingbottom.
The 26-year-old centre forward, who was signed from Hamburg on loan in the summer, made a strong impact early on scoring a brace on his debut.
However, post December he struggled with his form, but it seems he is enjoying under the new boss. He scored in Leeds’ 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United last week, his third goal in last four games.
He says that the new manager is trying to instill confidence back in the team, and that the fixture against Bristol City on Sunday is “very important”.
When asked what Heckingbottom has said to him about what he wants from him, Lasogga said he has asked to “Shoot on target” and bring his strengths for the team.
“We all work together so when a number 10 is in front of me I need to go back and defend and do everything for the victory,” said Lasogga, as quoted by Leeds Live.
“Of course he said I have to shoot on target and bring my strengths for the team and I’ll try my best and will do it on Sunday.”
He has scored eight goals this season, and Leeds will be hoping that he keeps banging in more goals as they look to climb up the table.
