Leeds United are on the hunt for the striker, and the Watford forward would be an appealing addition.

Leeds United should make a move for Troy Deeney this summer, following reports that the Watford striker is available for £10 million in the Daily Star.
Leeds could never before have considered bringing in a player of Deeney’s calibre, but all of a sudden they have money to spend.

Leeds have been heavily linked with Matej Vydra, but Deeney may well be a better option for a similar fee.

The target-man would fit in well with Marcelo Bielsa’s system, if he was leading the line.
Bielsa has tended to prefer to operate with bulky strikers in his team, with the likes of Fernando Llorente and André-Pierre Gignac taking the striking role at his previous clubs.
Deeney would certainly have the work-rate to fit in with Bielsa’s high-pressing style, and he could also offer Leeds goals.

The Watford man is a proven scorer at Championship level, and would surely be an upgrade on their current options.
It is also a potential bonus for Leeds that Deeney follows them, as his Dad was a supporter of the Elland Road club.
And Bielsa should consider making an ambitious move for the forward, as he could be the frontman that they have been looking for, ever since Chris Wood left.
