Sold by Leeds this summer after a loan at Blackburn Rovers, Marcus Antonsson is not looking back.
Marcus Antonsson became Malmo’s hero last night when he came off the bench to inspire his side to a Europa League comeback.
The former Leeds United striker came off the bench with Malmo 2-0 down to Genk in the 55th minute.
10 minutes later Antonsson provided the assist for Oscar Lewicki to score, and then he scored himself two minutes later.
Antonsson’s efforts saw Malmo claim a 2-2 draw in Europa League Group I, and move just one point off a qualification spot with one game remaining.
The Swedish striker is not looking back after leaving Leeds United behind in the summer.
Leeds signed him in 2016 when Garry Monk was in charge in a £1.2 million deal.
He did not win over his manager, scoring only three goals, and spent the next season on loan at Blackburn Rovers in League One.
He scored eight times as Rovers won promotion, trailing off after impressing early on.
Leeds cut their losses and sold him to Malmo, where he is playing under former Leeds boss Uwe Rosler.
This was his second goal in the Europa League this season, to add to an impressive league run, in which he has scored eight goals in 15 games.
