Leeds United have scared the signature of Barcelona defender Junior Firpo – and players around the world are reacting to the move.
The Whites needed to find a new left back this summer given that Ezgjan Alioski is on the move, and they have struck a deal to sign Firpo.
Leeds have announced a four-year deal for Firpo having agreed a £13million deal with Barcelona, ending his two-year spell at the Camp Nou.
Firpo, 24, was highly rated at Real Betis but has struggled to capture his top form since joining Barcelona, mostly playing as backup to Jordi Alba.
Now able to play as Leeds’ first-choice left back, Firpo looks to be a fine signing for the Whites, and many of his former teammates are reacting to the move.
Former Real Betis pals Marc Bartra, Fabian Ruiz, Cristiano Piccini, Sidnei, Sergio Canales, Cristian Tello and Victor Camarasa all sent congratulatory messages to Firpo after his move.
His former Barcelona teammates Ilaix Moriba, Konrad De La Fuente and Ivan Rakitic also wished Firpo all the best at Leeds, with Frankie de Jong and Alex Collado – current Barca players – reacting with positive emojis.
