Garry Monk worked with Rob Green at Elland Road last season and wants to take the Leeds United ‘keeper to Middlesbrough.
Garry Monk appears to be trying his best to ensure a hostile reception when he returns to Elland Road with Middlesbrough last season.
Many supporters backed the manager when he chose to leave at the end of last season and instead pinned the blame directly upon new owner Andrea Radrizzani. In the weeks since, however, any remaining goodwill towards Monk has been replaced with vitriol and snake emojis.
Not only did the highly-rated coach attempt to nab FC Twente midfielder Mateusz Klich away from his former club at the eleventh hour, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, he is attempted to encourage his former players to follow him to the Riverside.

According to the Shields Gazette, Middlesbrough are battling Sunderland to sign veteran Leeds goalkeeper Rob Green. With the arrival of Felix Wiedwald from Werder Bremen last week, it is assumed that the 37-year-old’s position in the starting XI may be under threat.
Yet, Leeds letting Green go, to a league rival to boot, would make little sense. For one, it is uncertain how Wiedwald, renowned for being one of the shakiest goalkeepers in the Bundesliga, will fare in England.
Understudy Marco Silvestri is still being linked with a return to Italy while the Yorkshire Evening Post report that youngster Bailey Peacock-Farrell is on the verge of a loan move to Oldham Athletic.
Safe to say Leeds fans are not enamoured with the prospect of Green’s departure.
