Leeds United take on Birmingham City this weekend.

Garry Monk the Middlesbrough manager looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Fulham and Middlesbrough at Craven Cottage on September 23, 2017 in London, England.

Leeds United are flying high at the top of the league and their next match is against former manager Garry Monk’s Birmingham City.

Monk’s Birmingham head to Elland Road for the first time since he took over, and it will be his second time since controversially leaving Leeds in the summer of 2017.

Monk was once held in high regard by Leeds fans, who thought he was the right man to lead them to promotion.

He decided to quit the Whites, spooked by Andrea Radrizzani’s takeover, and felt Middlesbrough were a better bet for him.

Last season Leeds beat Monk’s Middlesbrough at Elland Road, and fans took their frustrations out on the former boss.

Supporters want another humiliation for Monk this weekend, and feel Marcelo Bielsa’s side as well placed to do so.

Form is in Leeds’ favour, unbeaten at the top of the league.

Birmingham are battling relegation, with Monk under pressure.

It would be unfortunate if Monk is the man to end Leeds’ unbeaten record, and this is a shot at redemption for him.

Fans are keen to see his side put to the sword…
