Leeds United fans have responded to Kemar Roofe’s latest tweet urging him to stay at Elland Road.

Roofe reflected on his first pre-season at Leeds on social media yesterday, amid tentative rumours that he could depart this summer.

And Leeds fans were quick to implore Roofe to stay, and test himself under new manager Marcelo Bielsa.

Roofe, who joined the Whites for £3 million (Yorkshire Evening Post), finished last campaign as Leeds’ top scorer, despite not always being used as an out-and-out striker.

Roofe netted 14 goals for Leeds across all competitions last term, but his place could come under threat this summer.

Bielsa has a sizeable budget to spend at Leeds, with the Whites seemingly eyeing up attacking additions.

The likes of Abel Hernandez and Matej Vydra have both been linked with Leeds in recent times, which could knock Roofe down the pecking order.

Roofe and the rest of his Leeds’ teammates are due to return to pre-season earlier than expected, as Bielsa wants to ensure his new team are completely familiarised with his methods before the new campaign starts.
