Leeds United have reportedly identified Joe Bryan of Bristol City as the ideal replacement for Burnley new-boy Charlie Taylor.
There have been few left-backs in the Championship over the last few seasons who can match Charlie Taylor for natural talent.
Therefore, the York-born youngster, who rose through Leeds’ academy to make waves in the first-team, will take some replacing. He joined Premier League Burnley when his contract expired at the end of last season, leaving The Whites in need of a replacement.
Taylor deserved his move to the Premier League
And it appears that they are targeting one of the few left-backs in the second tier who could claim to be on par with the gifted Taylor. HITC broke the news on Tuesday that Leeds have enquired about the availability of Bristol City’s Joe Bryan.
The 23-year-old has spent his entire career with The Robins, making over 200 appearances, and has caught the eye during two excellent seasons in the Championship. He set up 10 league goals since the beginning of 2015/16 while his ability to play in midfield, left-wing back or an orthodox full-back role makes Bryan an attractive proposition.
At least this appears to be the opinion of the majority of Leeds United supporters, who are more than pleased at the prospect of Bryan stepping into Taylor’s shoes at Elland Road.
Nonetheless, Bristol City would surely demand a hefty fee for one of their most essential players.
