Tyler Roberts impressed for Leeds United on an otherwise disappointing day for Marcelo Bielsa’s troops.

Leeds United's Marcelo Bielsa during the Sky Bet Championship match between Nottingham Forest and Leeds United at City Ground on January 1, 2019 in Nottingham, England.

Tyler Roberts was one of Leeds United’s better players at QPR today.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side bowed out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle after losing 2-1 at Loftus Road for their third successive defeat in all competitions.

It was a fairly experimental first XI from the Leeds boss, who played striker Roberts in a number 10 role, while Jack Harrison, a winger, played up front.

Bielsa made a series of other tactical and slightly odd changes throughout the game, but the former West Brom man was a positive presence in an otherwise disjointed performance from the Championship leaders.

Prior to today, the 19-year-old, who cost Leeds £4 million last January [Daily Mail], had only managed 38 minutes of first-team football since November, but he looked determined to justify his inclusion early on and struck both posts within 28 seconds of kickoff.

Here’s how fans of the Elland Road side reacted to his performance:
