According to Italian newspaper Il Secolo XIX, Leeds United are keen to bring Sampdoria ace Ronaldo Vieira back to the club this summer.

It’s stated that a host of Premier League clubs have scouted Vieira, including Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.

The most interesting link is with Leeds though, given that Vieira was actually sold by the Whites just two years ago.

Leeds allowed Vieira to join Sampdoria for £7.7million, though Andrea Radrizzani admitted that Marcelo Bielsa wasn’t happy with the sale.

Radrizzani felt he had to sacrifice Vieira to raise funds for signings, and the has been a regular for Samp ever since.

The 22-year-old came up through the Leeds ranks after a spell at Benfica as a kid, and made 71 appearances for Leeds before heading to Italy.

Primarily a holding midfielder who could also play as a box-to-box midfielder, Vieira still has real potential, and it’s no major surprise that Bielsa fancies bringing him back to Elland Road.

Leeds fans seem a little split on the matter, with some feeling that he isn’t worth bringing back as Leeds can do better, and that the Whites should move on rather than look back.

Others are urging Leeds and Radrizzani to bring Vieira home, believing he is well worth signing at such a reasonable price as he would bolster Bielsa’s midfield options.
