Leeds United are said to have made a bid for the Middlesbrough forward.
According to the Daily Mail, Leeds United are interested in signing Rudy Gestede from Middlesbrough this month, although Garry Monk’s new side have no intention of letting the target man leave after rejecting a £6million bid.
Leeds are on the look out for at least one new experienced striker to replace the recently departed Chris Wood, and it has been claimed that Whites boss Thomas Christiansen believes Gestede could be that man.

The 28-year-old Benin international has scored on goal and provided two assists in four matches for Boro this season, and he had a fine record for former club Blackburn Rovers in the second tier.
That spell aside, he has never been close to prolific and the prospect of him getting anywhere close to Wood’s total last season seems highly unlikely, no matter which club he is turning out for.
Leeds have more goal-scoring options following the signings of Ezgjan Alioski, Caleb Ekuban and Samu Saiz, but replacing the 30 goals Wood scored last season is a hard task.
That said, they have the money from the New Zealand international’s sale and there is still some time to find an able replacement.
