Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has been commenting on his future following Marcelo Bielsa’s side’s failure to earn promotion.

Some Leeds United fans are fearing the worst after Pontus Jansson’s comments to Afton Bladet.

Jansson was spotted crying at full-time when Leeds lost the play off semi-final to Derby County, in what was clearly a bitter blow to the centre-back.

Speculation has been rife about Jansson’s future at Elland Road, as he is one of Leeds’ most valuable players.

But when asked about a potential move, Jansson was not talking up a transfer.

”I’ve always said that my dream is to play in the Premier League, and that i want to do it with Leeds,” he said.

“It’s up to Leeds if they want to negotiate. Until then I’m 110% Leeds and will be until the day they don’t want me”

Although Jansson’s comments ostensibly seem to suggest that he will be at Leeds next season, some supporters are fearing the worst.

Marcelo Bielsa’s decision to stick with Leeds is likely to have encouraged Jansson to stick around.

The Swede enjoys a good relationship with the Whites’ boss, who had an exceptional first season in English football.

Leeds were ever so close to achieving promotion over the past campaign, and there is hope that they will go one step further next time around.
