Leeds United fans slate Paul Heckingbottom on Twitter…….again.

Paul Heckingbottom manager of Barnsley looks on during the Sky Bet Championship match between Barnsley and Leeds United at Oakwell Stadium on November 25, 2017 in Barnsley, England.

Leeds United fans on Twitter have taken exception to what head coach Paul Heckingbottom has said about the transfer policy in West Yorkshire.

Under Director of Football Victor Orta, Leeds have made some 30 signings over the past two transfer windows and although many of these were bought with the intention of playing them in the Under-23 side, plenty of the first-team additions have flattered to deceive.

With the exception of Samu Saiz, Adam Forshaw, Ezgjan Alioski and maybe loan signing Pierre-Michel Lasogga, so many of Orta’s pre and mid-season signings look a million miles from being good enough for the Championship and the Spanish chief is under pressure.

Nevertheless, Heckingbottom, who took over from axed Thomas Christiansen in February, described the transfer situation as “healthy” in a pre-match press conference ahead of Friday’s trip to Aston Villa.

And fans of the Elland Road are bewildered with the 40-year-old.

Heckingbottom is already struggling to win Leeds fans’ affections, having only won two of his first 12 Championship games in charge, and these comments will do nothing for his popularity
