Leeds United can likely begin planning for another season in the Premier League, with survival close to being secured.

The Whites are already being linked with potential signings for the summer, and a new left back appears to be a key priority for Victor Orta and co.

Ezgjan Alioski is out of contract at the end of the season, and another option would be needed if he stays, never mind if he leaves.

One new rumour emerged on Saturday, as The Mirror report that Leeds fancy a deal for Crystal Palace left back Patrick van Aanholt.

The Dutchman is out of contract this summer, meaning Leeds would be able to sign him on a free transfer as things stand.

Van Aanholt is a tried and tested Premier League player at 30, offering pace and attacking thrust down the left flank.

Marcelo Bielsa told the Yorkshire Evening Post earlier this season that he thinks Van Aanholt is ‘very good’ going forward, meaning the interest may not be a huge shock.

Some Leeds fans think Van Aanholt is ‘class’ and ‘perfect’ for Leeds, noting that he could be a bargain on a free transfer.

Others think Leeds should be aiming higher, believing that Van Aanholt isn’t good enough for the Whites if Palace don’t want him.
