While the Whites took on Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road on Saturday evening, in the afternoon on the same day, the Blades faced Millwall at Bramall Lane.
Leeds got the better of the Owls 1-0 at home, thanks to Manchester City-owned Jack Harrison’s goal in the 65th minute.
Chris Wilder’s side conceded in the fifth minute of injury time to play out a 1-1 draw with Millwall at home.
The results meant that Leeds went three points clear of United and are now second in the Championship table.
The Whites are now in full control of their destiny in terms of winning automatic promotion in the Premier League at the end of the season.
Norwich are at the top of the Championship table, and the Canaries do look set to win the league title and get promoted to the Premier League.
The Canaries took on Wigan Athletic away from home at the DW Stadium in the Championship on Sunday afternoon.
With the Latics fighting for survival in the Championship and Norwich’s brilliant form, the Canaries were expected to pick up all three points.
However, Daniel Farke’s side had to come a goal down to play out a 1-1 draw and are now four points clear of second-placed Leeds at the top of the table.
