Leeds United fans stick the boot into Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk after signing Mateusz Klich.

Leeds United announced the signing of former FC Twente man Mateusz Klich on a three-year deal today.
The 27-year-old midfielder is Leeds’ first signing since the appointment of head coach Thomas Christiansen and second overall, after Hadi Sacko made his loan from Sporting Lisbon permanent a little earlier in the month.

According to The Yorkshire Evening Post, Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk, who sensationally quit the Whites in May, tried to hijack the move by showing interest in the man whom he reportedly recommended to the club last summer.
Leeds fans will hope that Klich is the first of many signings under Christiansen, and many of them were delighted with the news on Twitter today.

There is very little love lost between United fans and the new Middlesbrough boss and perhaps they are entitled to a bit of triumphalism, though it must be noted that Boro’s interest is solely based on a report from The YEP.
Klich is a full Poland international who netted six times in 30 matches for Eredivisie side Twente last season.
His arrival could have a knock-on effect for the likes of linked-away Liam Bridcutt, but for now, Leeds fans won’t be thinking that far ahead.
