Scotland picked up an important win on Sunday night, beating Slovakia 1-0 at Hampden Park in the UEFA Nations League.

Steve Clarke’s men saw off Israel on penalties just days ago, and grabbed a narrow victory over Slovakia this time around.

Lyndon Dykes scored the only goal of the game, turning home Stephen O’Donnell’s cross to send Scotland top of their Nations League group.

Clarke was though dealt a blow before the game, as he confirmed that defender Liam Cooper was not only missing the Slovakia clash, but will also be out against the Czech Republic on Wednesday.

Cooper played the full 90 minutes against Israel, and has seemingly picked up a knock that means his international commitments are over for now.

The news is far from ideal for Leeds, as they saw fellow centre back Diego Llorente pick up an injury on international duty with Spain, meaning Leeds could be two centre backs down for the game against Wolves next Monday.

Fans have been taking to Twitter to share their despair at the news, branding it a ‘big blow’ and ‘not good’, with some cursing the international break.

Others want Leeds to go out and sign Joe Rodon from Swansea City to add more defensive depth, whilst some want Cooper to ditch playing for Scotland all together in order to avoid injuries.
