Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has not played Lewis Baker much at Elland Road this season.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa of Leeds United looks on during the FA Cup Third Round match between Queens Park Rangers and Leeds United at Loftus Road on January 6, 2019 in London, United Kingdom.

Leeds United fans think that Marcelo Bielsa has opened the door for a new signing with their business so far this window.

Leeds have offloaded Samu Saiz, Paudie O’Connor and Connor Shaughnessy, while Lewis Baker is set to be recalled by Chelsea, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Baker’s exit at Elland Road reduces the number of players in Leeds’ squad even more.

And Leeds fans are more adamant than ever that additions are very much needed this month now.

Baker only had a limited impact at Leeds after arriving in the summer, but he was still part of their first-team squad.

The England youth international was regularly included in Bielsa’s match day squads, and offered cover in the attacking midfield slots.

Leeds will be hoping that the reduction of numbers in their squad doesn’t harm their push for promotion.

The Whites are currently leading the way in the Championship table, with Bielsa’s side earning plenty of plaudits for their performances.
