Leeds United are thriving under Marcelo Bielsa, and fans understandably don’t want his reign to ever end.
The Whites beat Everton 1-0 on Saturday evening, and continue to show that they belong in the Premier League under the Argentinian.
Bielsa is 65 though now, and given that his current deal expires at the end of the season, there are no guarantees he will still be in charge next term.
The Sun now report that owner Andrea Radrizzani has already started thinking about a potential replacement for Bielsa, just in case he does decide to leave at the end of the season.
It’s claimed that Radrizzani is a big admirer of Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui, and would want to bring him to Elland Road as Bielsa’s successor.
Lopetegui guided Sevilla to yet another Europa League title last season, and has rebuilt his career since his brief, miserable stint in charge of Real Madrid.

Previously impressive at Porto and strong with Spain before leaving in 2018, Lopetegui would be a big-name hire, but maybe not quite the same style as Bielsa.
That’s the fear for Leeds fans; some believe that whilst Lopetegui is a good manager, he is a defensive manager, even ‘Steve Bruce with a fancy name’ according to one fan on Twitter, but the fears over his playing style cropped up a few times.
Others believe that Huddersfield Town boss and ex-Leeds coach Carlos Corberan is the man for the job as he can carry on Bielsa’s style and work, though Chris Wilder and Mauricio Pochettino received shouts too.
