Some Leeds United fans have praised Joe Gelhardt on Twitter for his performance for the Under-23 side against their Middlesbrough counterparts on Sunday.
The Leeds Under-23 side got the better of their Middlesbrough counterparts 4-2 in Premier League 2 Division 2 yesterday.
Gelhardt was in action for the West Yorkshire club, and the 18-year-old forward played well.
The teenager, signed from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2020, scored twice in the first half.
The second goal from Gelhardt was especially brilliant. As shown in the video below, the youngster moved the ball onto his left foot and curled home a wonderful strike into the far corner.
Some Leeds fans were impressed by the youngster’s goal and performance and believe that he is better than winger Helder Costa – who is struggling for the senior side at the moment and has made eight starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League so far this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored – and want him in the first team.
