As announced on Leeds’s official website, Shackleton will feature for the England Under-20 team in the Maurice Revello Tournament.
Paul Simpson’s side will take on Japan in their opening Group A game on Saturday, before facing Portugal and Chile.
This is the first time that the 19-year-old midfielder has received an international call-up.
The teenager, who can also operate as a right wing-back, is a very promising and talent young player who has a bright future ahead of him.
Shackleton made four starts and 17 substitute appearances in the Championship for Leeds this season, providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
The midfielder also played twice in the League Cup and once in the FA Cup for Marcelo Bielsa’s side this campaign, according to WhoScored.
