Leeds were fined earlier this year for watching Derby’s training sessions.
Leeds United fans have been left bemused by Gary Neville’s comments on training sessions.
In a podcast for Sky Sports, Neville said he is in favour of clubs having their training sessions broadcast on television.
Neville said: “I’ve always wondered why football clubs don’t film their training sessions live.
“Filming a training session that is confidential around tactics and team shape, of course is out of the question, but that’s only a small component of a session.”
The comments come in the same year that Leeds United were fined £200,000 for watching opponents Derby County’s training sessions.
Manager Marcelo Bielsa admitted instructing this, but Leeds did so by watching from a public footpath, rather than gaining access illegally.
Leeds were vilified by some pundits for doing so, with the controversy earning its ‘Spygate’ moniker.
Whites fans have been left puzzled by Neville’s comments, asking if the club can get the money they were fined back.
