Aapo Halme left Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United for Barnsley in the summer transfer window.
Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Aapo Halme for Barnsley against their team.
Halme was in action for Barnsley in their Championship game against Leeds at Oakwell on Sunday afternoon.
It was the 21-year-old central defender’s first match against the Whites since his move away from Elland Road in the summer transfer window.
The Finland Under-21 international joined Leeds from HJK Helsinki in January 2018 for a transfer fee reported by The Yorkshire Evening Post to be worth £500,000.
The youngster struggled to make an impact at Elland Road and had injury issues, and in the summer of 2019, he moved to Yorkshire and Championship rivals Barnsley.
Halme played relatively well against Leeds, stood strong against striker Patrick Bamford, and also came close to scoring, but he brought down Eddie Nketiah late on in the game and conceded a penalty.
According to WhoScored, the 21-year-old took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 59.1%, won four headers, and made five tackles, two interceptions and four clearances.
