Leeds United appear to be in the market for a new playmaker, as they look to land Pablo Hernandez’s long-term heir at Elland Road.
Hernandez is currently out injured, meaning the need for a long-term successor has been magnified as the transfer window draws to a close.
Rodrigo De Paul is one player strongly linked with the club, but it’s now Norwich City’s Todd Cantwell who appears to be a top target.
Press Association Sport report that Leeds have started talks with Norwich over a potential deal for Cantwell, which could cost around £15million.
Cantwell was notably left out of Norwich’s squad to face Bournemouth on Sunday, and the 22-year-old could make an instant return to the Premier League.
Cantwell hit six goals and two assists last season, playing as a number 10 or on either flank, which should appeal to Marcelo Bielsa.

Leeds fans have now been taking to Twitter to react to the rumours of a possible deal for Cantwell, believing that he can be the club’s very own Jack Grealish.
Others believe that Cantwell is a ‘serious player’, and there is a belief that he is a real Marcelo Bielsa player, and one that the Leeds boss can turn into a real star if he makes the move to Elland Road.
