Leeds United managed to beat Norwich City 1-0 at Elland Road yesterday.

Leeds United's Dutch midfielder Jay-Roy Grot (2nd R) has this shot saved as Leicester City's English defender Harry Maguire (R) closes in during the English League Cup fourth round...

Leeds United fans believe Jay Roy Grot needs to be protected by Thomas Christiansen in future weeks.

Grot came on for Leeds in their match against Norwich City yesterday, but the crowd at Elland Road did little to support the wide-man.

Grot has failed to impress since moving to Elland Road, and the crowd were on his back from the minute he came on against Norwich.

With Leeds winning by just the solitary goal, tensions were heightened, and the supporters’ apprehension was palpable when Grot got on the ball.

Christiansen admitted after the match to the Yorkshire Evening Post that Leeds supporters had caused him a problem, with the way they treated Grot.

And while many Whites fans feel that Grot shouldn’t have been booed, they have called for Christiansen to do more to look after the youngster.

Despite Grot’s nervy display, Leeds still managed to hold on to claim an important three points against Norwich.

Christiansen’s men are now just one point away from the play off spaces, and have moved up to seventh place in the Championship table.
