Zuber would help Leeds out in attack, with the Whites leaning heavily on teenager Jack Clarke.
Zuber has experience, with more than 50 caps for Switzerland and featured at the 2018 World Cup.
Yet it depends whether he would be willing to drop down a division, and leave a team which sit seventh in the Bundesliga.
If Zuber did become Leeds’ first signing of the transfer window it would show a serious sign of intent.
Leeds are top of the Championship and are hoping to clinch promotion to the Premier League at long last.
The Swiss winger began the season playing in the Champions League, but Hoffenheim have since been knocked out.
He has made only six starts in the Bundesliga so far this season, leading to speculation he could leave.
