The Ivorian defender put in a good display on his return to Elland Road.
Leeds United’s mini-blip of form continued yesterday, as they lost 2-0 at home against Cardiff City in the Championship.
Garry Monk’s side put in a poor display as they lost their second Championship game in a row, following on from the West Yorkshire derby defeat v Huddersfield Town.
What made the defeat harder to take was the presence of Leeds old-boys Neil Warnock and Sol Bamba.
The defender seemed to relish the idea of getting the better of his former team-mates and the man who let him go in Monk.

Bamba left after falling out of favour with the Leeds boss. Monk signed Pontus Jansson and Kyle Bartley on loan and that left Bamba way down the pecking order and surplus to requirements.
His form at Leeds had dwindled in the months preceding his departure, so not many Leeds fans were that bothered he had left the club.

He has been told to play a much simpler game at Cardiff and it suits him to a tee. He was excellent v Leeds, keeping them at bay throughout the game.
Without his essential replacement in Pontus Jansson, who was ill, Leeds struggled to keep the Welsh side at bay and could have done with this Bamba’s presence.
