Ryan Edmondson scored his first goal of pre-season to kickstart his bid to catch Marcelo Bielsa’s eye.
Bielsa is in Australia at present, but you can bet he will be busy watching and analysing every kick of Leeds’ friendly win over Tadcaster Albion last night.
Leeds’ squad is currently split across two hemispheres, playing two friendly matches in one day.
Edmondson lined up alongside a mix of senior stars and young talent, led by Mateusz Klich and Helder Costa.
The teenager netted the opener, and then doubled up by scoring his second goal after half-time, and then completed his hat-trick in the 75th minute.
Edmondson has been on a tear for Leeds’ academy teams since signing from York City in early 2018.
He finished as top scorer for the under-23s last season and has already made his first team debut.
With Patrick Bamford failing to win over sections of Leeds fans, Edmondson could be a welcome addition to the first team squad if Bielsa wants to call on him.
