Vieira was likened to Kevin Nicholls by one Whites fan after February’s 2-2 draw against Derby County, and paid for his performance that day by failing to start any of his side’s subsequent five matches.
But Adam Forshaw’s injury handed the teenager – who was called up to England’s Under-20 side earlier this month – an opportunity to put things right.
